Dave Filoni Helped Find the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Lead. Here’s How

The Star Wars prequel trilogy - commonly known as the prequels - undoubtedly has the best moments. Why?

The Star Wars prequel trilogy, a thrilling deviation from the original trilogy released between 1977 and 1983, sparked a wave of fresh ideas for the creators. One such is our beloved Anakin Skywalker's remarkable journey, which started at Tatooine as a slave and led to becoming a fearsome dictator.

However, there are so many things about Anakin Skywalker that the prequel trilogy cannot cover, such as his journey with Master/Mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padawan Ahsoka Tano.

This gap is covered in the anime series ‘The Clone Wars.’

Anakin Skywalker in The Clone Wars

Directed by Dave Filoni, the show follows a storyline of multiple-star systems where the Jedi Knights are on a mission to stop the Separatists and their droid army.

The animated series shows Anakin standing shoulder-to-shoulder with his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Also, we see Padawan Ahsoka Tano getting trained under Anakin.

These moments from The Clone Wars make fans emotional when Ahsoka Tano learns the reality of Darth Vader in "Star Wars Rebels."

The Chief Creative Officer of Lucasfilm Animation - Dave Filoni - advises Lanter to be careful when voicing Anakin in the animated series. Remembering the conversation, Lanter says, “He suggested giving them my best combination of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, and that's what got me the job. Obviously, there's a lot of Solo swagger in the 'Clone Wars' Anakin, much more than Anakin in the films."
