Who Is Rey Skywalker?

Rey Skywalker is a female Jedi Master who fought alongside the Resistance during the First Order Resistance War. A former Jakku scavenger, the turbulent events of the final days of the New Republic Era altered her life. 

Rey's choice to assist the droid BB-8 started her on the path to learning about the Force that she experienced which inspired her to seek out Jedi Master Luke Skywalker for instruction. 

But because of her resentment and her hostile relationship with Ben Solo, Rey felt drawn towards the dark side of the Force even though she was devoted to the Jedi Order and the light side. In the Star Wars Sequel trilogy “Rey Skywalker” was the main protagonist, created by Lawrence Kasdan, J. J. Abrams, and Michael Arndt.

Types of Lightsabers Used by Rey Skywalker

In Star Wars canon, Rey wielded 4 different types of blades. These Sabers are:

01. Anakin Skywalker/Luke Skywalker's lightsaber

Anakin Skywalker constructed this iconic blue blade in his Jedi days which was later wielded by Luke Skywalker. After discovering this lightsaber on Jakku in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rey inherits it.

02. Kylo Ren's lightsaber

In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rey uses Kylo Ren's lightsaber to defeat a character named Snoke. 

Originally belonging to Ben Solo, it had a blue blade and a single-blade design. Kylo replaced the blue crystal with a cracked red one, resulting in a jagged blade shape. 

Rey successfully uses the Force to strike Kylo through the torso in an epic final duel.

03. Leia Organa's lightsaber

Leia Organa's lightsaber, which also has a blue blade, is passed on to Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi following the destruction of Luke's lightsaber by Kylo Ren.

04. Rey's yellow lightsaber

In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Rey takes on the task of building her very own lightsaber. What sets her lightsaber apart is its distinctive yellow blade, a color that deviates from the usual hues found in Jedi lightsabers.

Special Qualities of Rey Skywalker’s Lightsaber

Rey possesses a truly unique lightsaber, adorned in a golden hue. Rey’s yellow blade reflects her humble origins as a scavenger. 

The rarity of its yellow blade signifies a departure from the conventional Jedi and Sith customs while paying homage to the legacies of Leia and Luke through intermittent bursts of blue and green before it is ignited.
