Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu to Cast ‘Sigourney Weaver’

Sigourney Weaver is no stranger to fighting Aliens and otherworldly creatures. She is currently in talks with Disney to join the cast of ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu.’ 


According to the latest reports, Weaver may appear in the first Star Wars movie since Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker. The feature film will be directed by Jon Favreau, the creator of the Disney+ acclaimed show ‘The Mandalorian.’ 


The movie will begin production in late 2024 and be released in the summer of 2026. Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm, and Dave Filoni, chief creative officer, will produce it.

The Mandalorian premiered on Disney+ in November 2019 and became a sensation in the streaming world. Three seasons have since been released, and Pedro Pascal is expected to return as Djarin in the upcoming feature. 


Star Wars fans will be extremely excited to hear that Sigourney Weaver may appear in ‘The Mandalorian and the Grogu.’ She is a three-time Academy Award nominee and is most popularly known for her character ‘Ellen Ripley,’ from the Alien Franchise. 


She later worked with James Cameron again in the Sci-Fi Projects Avatar(2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water(2022). She has been associated with different Sci-Fi projects, like Ghostbusters and Chappie, and even voiced in Disney PIXAR’s Wall-E


With her joining the Saga, the future of Star Wars sure looks very promising, and the adventures of the Galaxy far, far away are going to be epic.
