The Acolyte takes the Centre Stage to Investigate Jedi Murders

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, a mysterious tragic event took place. Approx 100 years before the events of Star Wars Episode I - The Phantom Menace, a spate of Jedi murders were taking place.

This event later acted as an inception for the fall of the Jedi order. Star Wars' upcoming project ‘The Acolyte’ is going to address that. Created by Leslye Headland, one of the creators of Netflix’s Russian Doll, and star cast is supposed to be led by Amandla Stenberg.

In the latest interview with Empire, Headland told Acolyte is a term that originates in Extended Universe lore Legends novels. It has served as an inspiration to different creators in the Star Wars Franchise.

The show poster is going to be the cover of Empire magazine April’s edition that reads “It’s a position, essentially, that someone is going to fulfill or step into”, hinting at what many fans can expect from the upcoming series.

The show is going to premiere on Disney+ on June 4, 2024. This eight-episode series is going to be released in a weekly fashion with the first two episodes to be released simultaneously.
