Better than expected

Very pleased! Fast shipping, excellent tracking through DHL Express (even tracked the van driver as he came down my street). And awesome light and sounds! My daughter, age 6 goes crazy for the rainbow and candy blades. A lot of light saber fans and online stores seem to be trashing each other on the web for some reason. My experience with Artsabers was great. My kid and I have had several great battles already! Ordered on Dec. 31 and received on Jan. 12. That was quicker than expected, especially considering the international shipping and the New Year's holiday. The locking case, tool set, extra items included were all a great bonus! Mine came with 2x blade plugs, micro-SD to USB reader and some other items. But I believe these bonus items are subject to availability at time of purchase. My daughter wanted a purple light saber and so these were perfect for the two of us. It has a great range of colors and 20-24 sound fonts preinstalled (didn't actually count, but it's a lot). We ordered one of the mid-length neo-pixel blades and one of the shorter for the kiddo (82 & 72 cm). Perfect size as the full-length blades are a bit too long for playing around in the house. One note, the blade effects are programmed by pixel number for a full-size 92cm blade. So in order to get all effects to show (like tip-drag) you need to pull the micro-SD card and edit the config file to match the shorter blade lengths. Max. pixel length is 132px for 92cm. 114px for 82cm, etc... This worked great. The most frustrating thing I experienced was dismantling the longer hilt to access the micro-SD card. While the short hilt dismantled easily, following the instructional video on the Artsabers youtube channel, the larger hilt had a challenge. There is a hidden set-screw, under the rectangular feature on the handle's side, which covers this set-screw. Artsabers video show the guy putting in a blade and using it as a ramrod to hammer the Xenopixel chassis out of the hilt. This is scary to do, but works as the screw cuts a groove through the plastic of the Xenopixel cylinder. I choose to use a small file to cut a clean, wide groove into the Xenopixel chassis before reinstalling and this worked fine. However, this will not be ideal for all users. I suggest Artsabers address this with some alternative instruction, and or work with the saber supplier to alter the design. (Could be as simple as using a shorter screw!) I also filed the set-screw down a bit to a shorter length. The sabers come only with the generic Xenopixel instructions, and do not contain instructions specific to these hilts. So here are some additional points to consider: DO CHARGE to full before using. This will take approx. 4-5 hours. But I left both to charge overnight. This will require dismantling the small hilt, which takes only a few minutes. All protruding features on the small hilt dismantle by unscrewing. Use a rubber glove to get good grip on the small button surfaces to unscrew and replace. NOT ALL features on the large hilt dismantle by unscrewing. For example, the black-colored, round knob at the top of the hilt is held in place by adhesive. If you try to unscrew this, you will rip it off as I did. It also should not be used as a grip feature while swinging the blade around, because this too will weaken the adhesive. LIGHT PLAY fighting only, especially if using the Neopixel blades. Don't get too rough with the blades or the hilts. Or swing the them around like a maniac. Use ONE set-screw to hold the blade. Artsabers provides more, but this is not necessary. Using more than one will not maximize the surface area holding your blade and the connection is actually weaker, hinging on the multiple screws.

Fantastic product

When I first ordered, it took a little longer than I expected to receive any shipment info or tracking numbers, but once I did, It came intact and all the pieces were there! This is my first saber from Artsabers, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The product itself was a little loose with some screws when it arrived, but that’s an easy fix with the Alan key provided. The sounds are amazing and so is the lighting. I’m definitely going to be buying more from them.

They are just beautiful. Perfectly packed, the box was an awesome surprise. Hilts are beautiful, colors and sounds amazing - at least on the bigger one. I'm still trying to find out how to charge the smaller though.

Wonderful hilt just as much as the main hilt is. Fits beautifully in my tiny hands! You have to disassemble the whole hilt to charge it or replace the battery, which honestly i dont mind at all as it is easy to assemble! The actual ignition button is the copper one in which you can switch between music and sound and colour. Comes with build in covertecs so you can easily hang them onto your belt using covertec clips!

hilt feels great. eveything works, comes with a battery. the neopixel version is very nice built fairly well and for that I will be buying again
